LOOK FOR JOHN
DE D. JOHN OF ORLEANS AND BRAGANÇA
Of 05 AUGUST A 05 DE SETEMBRO OF 2010
Dom João de Orleans e Bragança debuted in professional photography in 1977, with the publication of a series of articles in Headline and Geographic Magazine. Held the first exhibition, Shadows and graphics, in 1987, Mauricio Leite Barbosa in Gallery, in Rio de Janeiro, and published the first book in the following year: Rio Imperial. Since, worked intensely exhibition and publishing almost entirely focused on Brazilian themes, with the exception of the essay devoted to the oasis of Siwa. But this was also based on the same urge to seek their own sources, for Egypt is the birthplace of his mother. And, to photograph the site of the famous Oracle of Amon (consulted by Alexander in Great 331 before the Modern Era), John made an ellipse in time that approached another essay in black and white, dedicated to the city of Rio Trajan, in 1990.
D ividindo with equal talent between color and black and white, as well as between the portrait and landscape photography, John falls in the line of grands reporters, going through thousands and thousands of miles in travel uncomfortable not to seek the most rare and spectacular image, but the most humane and compassionate. On the other hand, also specializes in aerial photography, in their eagerness to establish a visual synthesis of Brazilian immensity, what the country-continent is most characteristic and seductive: the meeting between land and sea. Drafted so a poetic exaltation plastic landscape, dramatic effects both by light or wave motion, as the sensuality of natural rivers clippings, beaches, stones, slopes, forests or sand carved by wind.
When performing this exhibition in Paraty, João de Orleans e Bragança displays at home – in the city he chose to live and who adopted him with joy and pleasure – a sample of the work that has been enshrined in various cities of the world.
